Mumbai hosted prominent figures from the entertainment industry to explore the rapid growth of India’s OTT platforms. Over two days, celebrities participated in insightful discussions about the changing landscape of digital content creation. A standout session featured Ananya Panday and director Vikramaditya Motwane, where they discussed their upcoming film CTRL, set to release on Netflix on October 4.

Towards the end of the session, Ananya Panday and Vikramaditya Motwane were asked if they had ever fallen asleep in an awkward situation. Both hesitated initially, leading host RJ Prerna to humorously ask Vikramaditya if he had ever dozed off during a narration. The acclaimed filmmaker responded, “No. Actually, I’ve put people to sleep while I was narrating a script!”



Ananya Panday then shared, “I once fell asleep during a scene! I was supposed to be asleep, but I was really exhausted.”



She explained, “It happened on the sets of Gehraiyaan (2022). Sidhant Chaturvedi had some reaction shots, and I was supposed to be sleeping. I actually passed out! Someone woke me up an hour later and told me, ‘The shot is done.’ I pretended like I knew and said, ‘Yeah, I know it’s done’!” She humorously added, “It was a great nap!”



Interestingly, Gehraiyaan, like CTRL, was also a direct-to-OTT release and starred Deepika Padukone.



The India Fest and India Entertainment Awards, in collaboration with Cinema Waale Film and Television Productions LLP and Across Media Solutions, will take place on October 3rd and 4th, 2024, at Taj Lands End, Mumbai. The event is presented by TVS Jupiter and co-powered by Fujifilm Instax, Fima, and Carlo Frattini, with additional support from Valvoline.
